Pro Iowa is hosting a block party and grand opening of a double futsal-sized (miniature) soccer pitch on Saturday at Linnan Park in Clive, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The pitch is one of 10 developments donated to communities across Iowa through a $1 million partnership with Pro Iowa, Musco Lighting and Kick It Forward. Futsal pitches have been constructed or announced in Pleasant Hill, Des Moines, Sioux City, Council Bluffs and Perry; the remaining locations will be announced at Saturday’s dedication. The event is free and will feature food trucks, children’s activities and appearances by the Des Moines Menace.
