More than 100 volunteers have worked since Friday building family homes at On With Life’s Ankeny campus, 715 S.W. Ankeny Road. The construction of the homes is part of Hubbell Realty Co.’s sixth Extreme Build event. The homes will serve as inpatient housing for clients of On With Life, a rehabilitation center. The volunteers, who include skilled trades people, have completed much of the homes’ exteriors, as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins. The next steps include installing drywall and flooring and painting preparation. Each of the two homes has five suites that include a bedroom, a bathroom, storage and a mini kitchenette. The homes will have shared family rooms with a business center, a full kitchen with needed appliances and a dining area. Construction is expected to be completed by Friday.
