Des Moines-based Slingshot Architecture has developed renderings of the proposed Paws & Pints, an indoor and outdoor off-leash dog park, bar and coffeehouse planned on 7.2 acres at Southwest Park Avenue and 63rd Street. Rendering by Slingshot Architecture
Paws & Pints

WHAT: An off-leash outdoor and indoor dog park, a bar and coffeehouse as well as an on-site veterinarian clinic, dog day care, overnight accommodations, a training facility and a retail shop.

WHERE: 7.2 acres at Southwest Park Avenue and 63rd Street.

PROJECT PLANNERS: Kyle and Megan Casey, a Norwalk couple who are raising money from investors to building the facility. They have a contract to buy the ground from Cornerstone Family Church.

UPDATE: Kyle Casey told the Business Record the couple plan to close on the land soon and are working with DG Development, which has offices in Des Moines and Grand Rapids. Downing Construction, based in Indianola, has been tapped to build the facility. Construction is expected to begin in the spring with completion in December 2020, “barring any significant delays,” Casey said. More than 1,400 dog owners have joined a VIP list and have indicated an interest in a membership.
