CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE: Construction would begin this summer with completion scheduled for fall 2021
ARCHITECT: Wilkus Architects
BACKGROUND and UPDATE: Developer Daniel Pettit last year announced plans to build an office building and event center at 2565 S.E. Encompass Drive as part of 12.4 acres he owns in Waukee.
The building originally was planned to be three stories and 90,000 square feet.
This week the Waukee City Council approved a site plan for a smaller, 44,697-square-foot, two-story office building. Plans call for the structure to include an event center and fitness center on the first floor and office space on the first and second floors. The event center would hold up to 300 people.
The site plan approved by the council also includes a 4,048-square-foot retail building at 2575 S.E. Encompass Drive that would include a coffee shop with a drive-thru window.
Three buildings have been completed in the development: a dental office and two office buildings.
Last year, Pettit sold 2.28 acres at 2595 S.E. Encompass Drive to FISH 174 LLC of Mason City and CHCR LLC of Nora Springs for $1.24 million.
