After the U.S. imposed 10 percent tariffs on another $200 billion worth of Chinese goods, the president of the Iowa Soybean Association warns that hopes for a short-term trade war resolution are failing, Radio Iowa reports. “It’s clear that both the U.S. government, and now the Chinese government even more so, appear to be kind of laying in for a long battle here,” said Kirk Leeds, president and CEO of the Iowa Soybean Association. “There’s just very little reason right now to be optimistic about any short-term resolution.” China introduced retaliatory tariffs on $60 billion worth of American goods earlier this week.
