The city managers of Indianola and Muscatine are among the five finalists to fill the same position in Urbandale. All of the candidates will attend a public meet and greet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, at the Urbandale Senior Center, 7305 Aurora Ave.

The finalists are Jim Hurm, city administrator for Austin, Minn.; A.J. Johnson, city manager for Muscatine since 1989; Cara Pavlicek, interim department manager in Oak Park, Ill.; John Pick, city manager for Salisbury, Md.; and Tim Zisoff, city manager for Indianola since 1987.

Finalists also will meet May 4 with Urbandale’s senior city staff, mayor, city council and a citizens’ advisory committee.

The Urbandale position has been vacant since February, when longtime City Manager Robert Layton took the same job in Wichita, Kan.
