The Ankeny City Council will consider a development agreement Monday for PurFoods LLC’s planned expansion. The company wants to build a $3.5 million, 30,000-square-foot refrigerated warehouse and distribution center at 3210 S.E. Corporate Woods Drive. City Economic Development Director Derek Lord said the council will be asked to approve a five-year tax abatement of 75 percent of the assessed value of the new structure. In 2014, PurFoods moved into a new 46,000-square-foot office and fulfillment center facility on Corporate Woods Drive. Purfoods has based its headquarters and fulfillment operations in Ankeny since 2003. The company delivers tens of thousands of fresh meals each week across the United States.
