Variety — the Children’s Charity raised a record-breaking $141,304 during its two-day radiothon, Two Days of Compassion on KJJY-FM radio, which broadcasts as 92.5 Nash Icon. Funds were raised Dec. 11-12 to fill Variety’s Compassion Fund for the year. The Compassion Fund partners with Mercy Medical Center-Des Moines and Blank Children’s Hospital to help parents of critically ill children to cover expenses for meals, travel and payment of immediate bills such as phone and heat.
