Ray Cole inducted into broadcaster’s hall of fame

Iowan Ray Cole has been inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame. The 30th annual B+C Hall Of Fame pays tribute to the pioneers, innovators and stars of broadcast, cable and broadband television. Receiving the Hall of Fame honor is more than the acknowledgement of a successful career – it’s entry into an exclusive community of honorees that have truly changed the paradigm of the industry, the organization says.Cole has held a variety of broadcasting industry leadership positions, including service on the boards of the National Association of Broadcasters, the Television Bureau of Advertising, and the ABC Television Affiliates AssociationCole is 67, and a lifelong television broadcaster whose executive career spanned five decades. He served as chairman of the ABC board of governors from 2006 to 2008 and continued in a chairman emeritus capacity until 2019. As an Iowa native, he’s also worked to serve his local communities and the state. “This is an unexpected honor that is as humbling as it is gratifying,” Cole said.
