RDG Planning & Design each year brings in students for a residency to tackle a big problem. This year’s is the biggest: climate change. Students from Harvard University, Stanford University, Drake University and Iowa State University, among others, will come up with ways local governments and other entities can cope with the effects of climate change, which can include severe weather that leads to flooding. The Design Residency runs Oct. 23-26 and features panels of city officials, climate modelers and officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA.
