Recap: Friday’s state loans, tax benefits to Greater Des Moines companies

173 wordsAll Latest News, Economic DevelopmentIn addition to approving $4.7 million in tax credits to Microsoft Corp. and nearly $1 million for Holmes Murphy & Associates’ move to Waukee from West Des Moines, the Iowa Economic Development Authority approved awards for other Greater Des Moines projects on July 22.
The board awarded $40,000 in direct financial assistance and tax benefits under the high quality jobs program to create five new jobs at a qualifying wage of $26.72 as part of West Des Moines-based software company ePATHUSA Inc.’s move to a new office building in the city. Read more
IEDA’s technology commercialization committee also provided a $25,000 loan to West Des Moines startup Clear Carbon LLC for pilot testing of a process to refine, manufacture, sell and deliver biomass-sourced activated carbon. The process could have applications in the U.S. power industry, according to a release.
And the committee granted a $25,000 loan to Fermented Labs LLC, a Johnston company that operates under the named Brewd, to continue development of software that is intended to help breweries operate more efficiently.
