Gov. Kim Reynolds has appointed Annette Dunn as chief information officer for the state, effective Aug. 5. Previously, Dunn served as information technology division director for the Iowa Department of Transportation, which she was appointed to in Jan. 2015, and as director of support services and winter operations administrator for the Iowa DOT, where she was instrumental in implementing a statewide GPS and vehicle location project in more than 900 snow plows. Dunn replaces interim director Jeff Franklin, who stepped in to the role Jan. 3 after CIO of six years Robert von Wolffradt stepped down from the position.
