Reynolds’ deputy chief of staff joins Des Moines law firm

Paige Thorson, who had been deputy chief of staff for Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, has joined BrownWinick Law, the firm announced. On the governor’s staff, Thorson oversaw the Reynolds’ policy team and provided counsel on Reynolds’ response to significant events affecting Iowans including the pandemic, civil unrest, and the derecho storm relief. Prior to working in the governor’s office, Thorson was an associate attorney, practicing in government relations, at a Des Moines law firm. She also held positions with the Iowa Department of Human Services and Iowa Department of Aging. Thorson obtained a law degree from Drake University Law School and also attended Iowa State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
