Reynolds extends disaster proclamation for derecho-affected counties

Kim Reynolds has extended until Nov. 8 a disaster proclamation for counties affected by the Aug. 10 derecho, the governor’s office announced on Friday. The proclamation allows state resources to be used in 27 counties, including Polk, Dallas and Marshall. The proclamation also temporarily suspends regulatory provisions pertaining to weight limits and hours of service for disaster repair crews and delivery drivers transporting loads related to severe storm system response in Iowa.
