Gov. Kim Reynolds announced the appointment of James “JC” Risewick to the Iowa Board of Regents, effective Tuesday, following the death of Milt Dakovich in February. The appointment is subject to confirmation from the Iowa Senate. Risewick is currently president and chief operating officer of Des Moines-based Seneca Cos., where he has served in multiple roles over 15 years. He was named a Business Record Forty Under 40 honoree in 2014. “I’m thankful that the Governor has appointed me to this position, and I look forward to serving the citizens of Iowa,” Risewick said in a release. “I will work diligently with the fellow board members to keep upper education at Iowa’s public universities on the forefront and leading edge of the 21st century.” He has a business degree from Miami University and completed the Minnesota Management Institute at the University of Minnesota. Risewick has been a significant donor to Reynolds’ campaign, the Iowa Capital Dispatch reported.
