Food Logistics, a publication dedicated to covering the movement of products through the global food supply chain, has named Ruan Transportation Management Systems to its Top Green Providers list for 2020. Ruan has received this award every year since 2016. Ruan’s fleet uses biodiesel, compressed natural gas, renewable natural gas, renewable diesel and, soon, electric-vehicle technology. The Des Moines-based trucking company’s natural gas fleet has logged more than 100 million miles, including 70 million miles on an RNG milk hauling fleet, sequestering methane and eliminating diesel consumption. Food Logistics’ annual Top Green Providers, featured in the June issue, recognizes companies whose products, services, or exemplary leadership is enhancing sustainability within the food and beverage industry.
