Bizjournals.com: Hearst Newspapers announced Wednesday a new editor-in-chief of the San Francisco Chronicle: 37-year-old Audrey Cooper, the paper’s first female editor-in-chief in its 150-year history. Cooper is believed to also be the youngest woman to lead a major U.S. paper. Formerly the paper’s managing editor, Cooper will begin her new role immediately and report to Chronicle publisher Jeff Johnson. She joined the paper in 2006, and has prioritized investigative journalism, the announcement said. The newspaper was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2014 under Cooper’s leadership. Cooper is married, has a 2-year-old son and is a native of Kansas City, Kan., the Chronicle reported.
