Sauer-Danfoss Inc. announced today that it ranks No. 939 on the Fortune 1000 list for 2007, up seven places from a year ago and up 22 from 2005. Fortune magazine annually lists the 1,000 largest public American companies according to revenues.

“Upward movement on this list is the result of the hard work and efforts of all 9,000 Sauer-Danfoss team members,” said Dave Anderson, president and chief executive officer, in a press release. “It is exciting to see all of our effort manifest itself in this way.”

Sauer-Danfoss designs, manufactures and sells hydraulic, electric and electronic systems and components, primarily for use in mobile equipment. The company has about 9,000 employees worldwide and reported 2006 revenues of more than $1.7 billion. It operates sales, manufacturing and engineering facilities in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and the Americas, including a manufacturing plant in Ames.
