SBA backs 11 Central Iowa business loans for $5.7M in August

Eleven Central Iowa businesses received loans in August that were backed by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Those loans totaled $5,691,000.

The entities receiving those loans expect to create 57 new jobs and retain 19 existing jobs in Central Iowa. The nine-county Central Iowa region includes Polk, Story, Boone, Dallas, Madison, Warren, Marion, Jasper and Marshall counties.

Among the top loans in August by dollar value were:

– Dose Holdings LLC, an existing manufacturing company in Story City, for $1,985,000.
– Shiva 7 LLC, an existing accommodation and food services company in Ames, for $1,216,000.
– Water Filtration Stations, an existing utilities company in Urbandale, for $950,000.

Statewide in August, the SBA backed 41 loans for $21,596,800 to Iowa businesses from participating lenders using its two largest lending programs.

The SBA 7(a) and 504 programs capitalized 16 new and 25 existing businesses that report creating 165 new jobs and retaining 189 jobs as a result. A complete listing of August loan approvals is enclosed.
