SBA guaranteed $168M in Iowa loans in FY2019

124 wordsAll Latest News, Economic Development The U.S. Small Business Administration guaranteed more than $28 billion in loans to entrepreneurs in the year ended Sept. 30, including $168.1 million in Iowa.
Here are highlights from the Iowa data:
- There were 406 guaranteed loans for a combined $168.1 million.
- Those loans supported total lending to Iowa small businesses of $218 million.
- The activity was similar to the year before, when the SBA backed 405 Iowa loans totaling $169.1 million, which supported $212 million in lending to small businesses in Iowa.
- The fiscal year 2019 loans helped create 1,669 jobs in Iowa, retaining another 2,791 jobs.
