The U.S. Small Business Administration has launched a new course on its Ascent online learning platform that specifically explores ways women business owners can expand their small businesses into new, international markets. The course, titled “Growing Globally,” will help entrepreneurs explore the opportunities for growth internationally and guide them through the risks and benefits of expanding into international markets. “Access to digital and online training platforms remains critical to supporting women entrepreneurs. As women are the fastest-growing entrepreneurial segment in the nation, Ascent helps the SBA reach more women where they are and when they need it,” said Mark Madrid, SBA associate administrator of the Office for Entrepreneurial Development. Female entrepreneurs start and own nearly half of all businesses in the United States. They cover all industries, employ 9.4 million workers and generate $1.9 trillion in annual revenue. Registration for the course is open at ascent.sba.gov.
