The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced this morning that small, non-farm businesses in 43 Iowa counties are eligible to apply for low-interest federal disaster loans.

The SBA has made the loans available for businesses affected by frost and freeze during the month of April. Loans of up to $2 million are available for those qualified.

Although farming and agricultural businesses do not qualify for the loans, farmers can contact the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Services Agency to find available assistance, according to a release.
