Science Center’s Imax theater closed after storm damage
The Science Center of Iowa’s Blank Imax Dome Theater sustained “significant damage” from the recent round of severe rainstorms and has been closed until further notice, the museum announced. Initial damage from rainfall on June 25 was compounded by another round of record-breaking storms on Saturday. The theater will be closed as the organization assesses damage and determines its next steps. SCI’s exhibits, planetarium, live programming, camps, preschool, A-ha! Store and Food Chain Cafe remain open and and fully operational.
