Senior living association gets new name
To better reflect its commitment to quality aging services, the Iowa Association of Homes and Services for the Aging changed its name to LeadingAge Iowa. The new name aligns the organization with its national partner, LeadingAge, which represents 5,500 nonprofit service providers nationwide.
The association also announced its 2012 advocacy agenda, which will directly affect the 29,000 Iowans served by its 82 associate members throughout the state.
The group plans to focus on expanding home- and community-based services available for seniors, resident safety for those in long-term care, and bringing in health information technology that will allow the exchange and secure access of patient health information throughout the state.
