Sherman Associates has opened a regional office in Des Moines in its new Gray’s Landing office building, located at 220 S.W. Ninth St. 

Minneapolis-based Sherman Associates develops multifamily, office, hotel and other projects in Minnesota, Iowa and other Midwest states. The developer has several Des Moines projects, including the Edge and Nexus, both multifamily developments, and a Holiday Inn Express Hotel. The three developments are located in Gray’s Landing, located south of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. The company also developed and owns Vine Street Apartments and Rumely Lofts and developed and is a general partner of Metro Lofts and the Randolph, all located in downtown Des Moines.

Sherman Associates’ Des Moines office will be led by Jackie Nickolaus, who joined the company in May as a senior developer. She previously worked for Sherman Associates between July 2005 and October 2014. She will be responsible for managing real estate development projects and determining funding requirements, while working collaboratively with several teams including legal, accounting, construction and asset management.

Other commercial tenants in the Gray’s Landing office building include Estes Construction, Paragon IT Professionals, Table 128 and a Sherman-owned Starbucks.
