Sioux City pork plant ordered to pay over $331,000 in back wages to employees

85 wordsAll Latest News, HR and Leadership, Manufacturing, Statewide NewsKTIV-TV: A recent investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division has found a Sioux City pork processing facility failed to pay 413 employees for work completed before and after their shifts such as setup, cleanup and knife sharpening. According to a press release, the Seaboard Triumph Foods facility in Sioux City violated provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act by failing to count and pay for this work. The division said it recovered $331,807 in back wages for the affected workers.
