The building, which will range in height from 17.5 feet to 26 feet, will include space for offices and research and development. Last August, the company purchased nearly 5 acres along Plum Drive. According to a city document, the company plans to invest over $12 million in its new facility. The company, which specializes in packaging and bulk conditioning products for the seed industry and organic materials and peat bog harvesting equipment, currently leases its facilities in Johnston, according to information from the Iowa Economic Development Authority. The state board in May 2021 approved providing Premier Tech Prairie with $415,000 in a combination of investment tax credits, tax refunds and a forgivable loan to support its relocation plan. The company is also receiving up to $216,000 in tax increment financing from the city of Urbandale. The site plan now goes to the Urbandale City Council, which meets June 14.
