The lot is located south of Jordan Creek Town Center.
Dave & Buster’s is a popular Texas-based arcade and sports bar chain that began planning a West Des Moines location in early 2020. The company halted new store developments when the pandemic began.
It’s unclear when construction of the facility will begin. The commission’s approval included the condition that the final plat for the site must be approved by the City Council and recorded with the Dallas County recorder before a building permit could be issued.
Also at its meeting this week, the commission:
• Approved changes to the city’s comprehensive plan land use map to allow the redevelopment of property at 3300 Westown Parkway. The site is where West Bank plans to construct its new headquarters. The commission also approved a phase site plan to allow construction to begin on private utilities, footings and foundations.
• Approved a phased site plan for Farmers State Bank, which plans to build a 33,000-square-foot, three-story office building on the southeast corner of University Avenue and 98th Street. The property includes 9 acres. In addition to the bank building, two other buildings will be constructed on the site, according to information provided to the commission.
• Approved the site plan for a 9,000-square-foot addition to a building at 2200 Delavan Drive. Collins Engine Nozzles Inc. is located in the building.
