Social Club hosts ‘Fireball’
In celebration of its “summer of fire,” the Des Moines Social Club will host “Fireball” on Aug. 16 and 17 at the Simon Estes Amphitheater.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Zachary Mannheimer, the group’s president, said the event will include fire performances from two out-of-state troupes, Tucson-based Flam Chen and Chicago-based Pyrotechnique.
Mannheimer compared the event to Cirque de Soleil, saying it will be filled with acrobatics and fire. The Social Club has worked closely with city and fire officials to put on the show, which Mannheimer said will be unlike anything the Des Moines has experienced.
Event tickets are $25 and $50 for VIP, which include front-row seats, a meet-and-greet with performers and two drink tickets. Children 12 and younger may attend at no cost. Tickets can be purchased online.
