The Des Moines Social Club recently announced the launch of Station 1 Records, a nonprofit record label committed to the development of emerging local artists, according to a news release sent by the organization. Supported by the Social Club and Drake University, Station 1 will furnish business infrastructure and professional resources to help artists build sustainable careers. In tandem with the launch, Station 1 will host The State of Our Musical Union on April 30. The assembled panel for the event will hold a conversation with the community about further improving the Des Moines music scene.
