Des Moines Register: The prospective buyers of the former Des Moines Social Club have one question to answer before they can make the purchase final — whether amplified sound for weddings, retirement parties or other events is allowed in the courtyard or on the rooftop patio. Local businessmen Todd Milang, Paul Rottenberg and Tyler Dingel have offered to purchase the property at 900 Mulberry St. for $2.3 million. But for it to operate as an events space, as it has in the past, they need a sound permit from Des Moines. At a city work session on Monday, neighbors encouraged the Des Moines City Council not to issue any such permit.
