The hashtag symbolizes a social media campaign to connect pig farmers and consumers, and a Des Moines Social Media Club event scheduled tonight will highlight the story behind the movement and why it has seen such online success. The event will be held 5:30-7 p.m. at Pork Checkoff, 1776 N.W. 114th St. in Clive. Claire Masker, public relations manager for the Pork Checkoff, will share the story behind #RealPigFarming, which has given pork producers an avenue to educate consumers, through photos and videos, about modern pig farming. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased here.
