Science safety company Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) announced today that it will acquire Newton-based Springboard Engineering Inc.

Springboard Engineering is a reliability and engineering advisory services company that was founded by Maytag Corp. design engineers.

Springboard Engineering will become part of UL’s Verification Services business, and will continue to be based in Newton. Jordan Bruntz will remain as president of Springboard.
