The Enhance Iowa Board has awarded Sports Tourism Grants to a professional swim meet in Des Moines and a youth softball tournament in Bettendorf. According to a news release, the Enhance Iowa Board, which is part of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, approved the grants on Thursday. The board approved a $5,000 grant for the 2023 Tyr Pro Swim Series, scheduled for March 2023 in Des Moines. The grant will support promotional efforts, including billboards, television advertising and collaboration with Catch Des Moines and the Greater Des Moines Partnership. The board also approved a $13,000 grant to a youth softball tournament in Bettendorf, scheduled for September 2023. The grant will help pay for the creation of a video to showcase the TBK Bank Sports Complex and amenities for those attending the event. It will also help support advertising to promote the tournament.
