State girls soccer tournament to stay in Des Moines
The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has agreed to hold the Iowa Girls State Soccer Tournament at the James W. Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines through 2020. The tournament is seen as a boost to the local economy, and has been staged at the complex since 2013. Cownie Soccer Park draws 150,000 visitors a year.
