State nursery helping replace trees destroyed by derecho

The Iowa DNR State Forest Nursery is helping replace trees that were destroyed in the Aug. 10 derecho. According to a news release, the state nursery is working with customers to select the proper trees to replant in areas devastated by the storm. The nursery grows approximately 40 species of native Iowa tree and shrub seedlings that are available for sale to the public. Prices start as low as 80 cents depending on the size and species. Orders must be placed in increments of 25, with a minimum order of 25 trees per species. To begin placing orders, or for more information, click here.
