The Iowa Department of Transportation will present the drafts of both the State Rail Plan and the State Freight Plan at an open house Wednesday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden (DuPont East Room), 909 Robert D. Ray Drive. The drafts include an evaluation of Iowa’s existing rail and freight systems, as well as plans to address the needs of both systems over the next 25 years. There will be no formal presentation. Iowa DOT staff will be available to answer questions and receive comments. For those unable to attend in person, an online public meeting with the same content as the in-person meeting will be available between June 8 and July 8.
