The Central Iowa Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals has named Peggy Fisher and Larry Stelter as the 2017 Outstanding Individual Philanthropists. Stelter and Fisher, owners of the Stelter Co. in Urbandale, regularly contribute to groups within the community emphasizing early childhood development and higher education as well as to organizations benefiting children and families in need. In total, they made major contributions to more than 30 Iowa nonprofits in 2015 and 2016. The family-owned company works with more than 1,500 nonprofit organizations across the country to assist with their fundraising marketing. The Association of Fundraising Professionals also recognized the Rasmussen Group and Willis Auto Group with its Outstanding Corporate Award in the large and small business categories respectively. Mary Lou Neugent was named the Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser, and Nawadir “Nosa” Ali received the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy award. The award winners were honored today during the association’s Philanthropy Day Luncheon.
