The Davis, Brown, Koehn, Shors & Roberts P.C. law firm hopes to move into its 13-story, $44 million home next February. Ladco Development Inc. is constructing the building at 10th and Walnut streets, which will offer office and retail space and about 700 indoor parking stalls, too.
On Locust Street, Nationwide Insurance is constructing a second building west of its Allied Insurance headquarters – which received a 280,000-square-foot expansion this year. The new building will stand five stories tall and enclose 350,000 square feet.
Demolition of a building at 13th and Mulberry streets also has begun, making way for a Nationwide parking garage.
Principal Financial Group Inc. has started work on a learning center that’s part of a major expansion of the company’s campus. A 1,800-stall parking ramp will follow, but isn’t expected to be complete until 2009.
In the East Village, construction is under way on a five-story building at 517 E. Locust St., part of a $15 million development called Village Place. Plans also call for a parking ramp and smaller mixed-used building on East Sixth Street.

And on Fourth Street, two residential buildings being developed by Hubbell Realty Co. and BH Equities are coming along. The building at the corner of Court Avenue and Fourth Street will be the home of Dos Rios Cantina and Tequila Lounge.
