Survey finds more businesses taking part in social media
More Central Iowa businesses are taking advantage of social media, a survey found. Hanser & Associates announced the results of its third annual survey about goals, resources and outcomes of social media activity in Central Iowa. The survey found that the number of organizations using social media increased 9 percentage points to 86 percent. However, the number that started social media use in the last 12 months is down 15 points from 2011. Additionally, more than 60 percent said they’re measuring outcomes now, but just four in 10 said the activity meets their expectations. The most cited reason for groups to not participate in social media is lack of a knowledgeable staff, and a lack of a strategy and resources among organizations remains evident.
