Nikki Syverson is leaving Capital Crossroads in January to join longtime community advocate Connie Isaacson in Isaacson-Syverson Consulting. Syverson (right), director of the Capital Crossroads long-range planning initiative that has included work on big projects like the water trails, has more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, fundraising and strategic planning. Isaacson (left) has worked more than 25 years in community leadership at the local, state and national levels. She has served on numerous community boards and as an elected official and helped raise $74 million for area nonprofit organizations. Syverson has worked on behalf of the Des Moines Community Playhouse, the Wine Festival Foundation of Des Moines and the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra, as well as By Degrees Foundation, Drake University National Alumni, Orchard Place and the Central Iowa Water Trails Incubator. Isaacson said she wanted to expand her business and Syverson fit her criteria well.
