Take a Pop, Share a Smile program expands to Des Moines

106 wordsAll Latest News, Culture, Health & WellnessA new partnership will provide unlimited flavored ice pops to hospitalized children in seven Midwest cities, including both children’s hospitals in Des Moines. Hy-Vee Inc., in conjunction with the Jel Sert Co., the American Childhood Cancer Organization and 10 children’s hospitals, announced a partnership that further expands the “Take a Pop, Share a Smile” program for hospitalized children battling cancer and other serious diseases. Since 2010, Jel Sert has placed freezers in more than 140 hospitals nationwide, providing more than 1 million treats to ease symptoms and help with hydration. In Central Iowa, both MercyOne Children’s Hospital and Blank Children’s Hospital will participate in the program.
