Taxpayers group celebrating 100 years with special event
The Taxpayers Association of Central Iowa is celebrating its centennial with a cocktail buffet and briefings on significant current and past public-private partnership. The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 13 at Prairie Meadows in Altoona. Among the projects that will be highlighted are the Pro Iowa Soccer Stadium, Central Iowa Water Trails, the Market District, Merle Hay Mall Campus, Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, Des Moines Area Community College and the new terminal at the Des Moines International Airport.
