The Taxpayers Association of Central Iowa and other groups plan a joint presentation on “Securing Iowa’s Public Pension Systems” at 11 a.m. Feb. 25 at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden. The session will examine the fate of the systems in an era of national reform. Speakers will include Greg Mennis, director of the Public Sector Retirement System; Donna Mueller, CEO of the Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System (IPERS); Dan Liljenquist, architect of Utah pension reform, and Terry Slattery, executive director, Municipal Fire and Police Retirement System.
