The Homestead launches telehealth services
The Homestead announced it has begun using telehealth technology to teach parents with autistic children to implement Applied Behavior Analysis in their homes. Telehealth is designed for remote areas, where medical and behavioral care is not readily available. The system will enable the Homestead to provide services to families outside of its clinics in Altoona, Clive, Cedar Rapids and Davenport. To be eligible, a family with an autistic child must live 30 miles or more from a clinic center providing the service. The organization plans to use telehealth for five children by the end of the year and will expand services when more board certified behavior analysts are available to support it.
