‘Then. Now. When.’ video series, discussion tools now available
The Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute is introducing its self-guided tool for community leaders based on the “Then. Now. When.” racial equity educational experience. The content was first available during a seven-session virtual program in 2021, which was attended by several hundred Des Moines-area leaders. The new video series includes original recordings from the 2021 events and a participant guide that incorporates additional readings and discussion prompts. “To create a thriving community for all, leaders must educate themselves and own their roles in addressing and changing systems that contribute to racial inequity,” Amy Jennings, executive director of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, said in a release. “The Then. Now. When. Video Series, which was inspired by the New York Times 1619 Project, will give leaders a foundation in history, an understanding of local issues, encourage brave conversations, and result in meaningful action.” The video series is now available at gdmli.com/ThenNowWhen
