Three Urbandale High School students will be recognized by C-SPAN on Wednesday as first-prize winners in StudentCam, the network’s annual student video documentary competition. The students, Jacob Sammon, Matthew Moran and Riley Vander Hart, are among 340 students from across the country who won a total of $100,000 in prize money. In all, 150 winning videos on the topic “What does it mean to be American?” were chosen from among a record 6,318 students who participated. C-SPAN’s customized bus will visit Urbandale High School on Wednesday, and StudentCam, in partnership with Mediacom and C-SPAN, will present a certificate of merit to the students during a ceremony at the school. Their winning video will also be viewed during the event. To access all of the winning videos for 2019, visit www.studentcam.org.
