Kate Thuesen, a senior associate in DLR Group’s Des Moines architect’s office, has received the American Institute of Architect’s 2023 Young Architects Award. The award honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the architecture profession early in their careers. AIA members who are in good standing and have been licensed to practice architecture less than 10 years by the submission deadline are eligible to receive the award. Thuesen leads the DLR Group’s Emerging Professionals Experience program. She also serves as strategic vision director on the advisory committee for the AIA National Young Architects Forum. Thuesen is one of 17 young architects in the U.S. who received the award.
