Construction of new homes fell in February to an annual rate of 575,000, down from January’s revised rate of 611,000, CNNMoney.com reported. But housing starts last month beat economists’ expectations of 570,000. The number of building permits issued during February fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 612,000, which was 1.6 percent below the revised January rate of 622,000. Economists had expected building permits would fall to 601,000. The Iowa Credit Union Foundation was awarded a $165,000 grant to expand its Credit Union Family Partnership Individual Development Accounts Program. The Northwest Area Foundation (NWAF) grant money will also be used to increase the number of Iowa credit unions offering financial education and savings accounts for families with low incomes, including credit unions that serve Latino communities. A total of $665,000 was awarded by NWAF to six organizations that have demonstrated their ability to leverage investments made in their work. A primary goal of the grant is to help grantees create jobs, encourage savings and increase access to credit. ADi Group announced today two appointments. Scott Chapman, who has been acting as vice president of sales, has been promoted to executive vice president. He will continue to oversee ADi’s sales and marketing efforts, in addition to his new role in the administrative and organizational development of the company’s print management solutions group. Joel Vander Werff has been promoted to vice president of business development and will direct and manage new customer development, focusing primarily on the ADi Group’s i-Print Solutions and print management programs.
