Iowa Telecommunications Services Inc. today announced that its board of directors has declared a quarterly dividend of 40.5 cents per share on the company’s common stock. The dividend is payable on Oct. 15 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Sept. 30.
The Walnut Creek Family YMCA at 948 73rd St. is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony today at noon to celebrate its most recent renovations. The YMCA added three new private locker rooms and has expanded and updated its current men’s and women’s locker rooms. Yet to come are a new cycling studio, new equipment in the Wellness Center and a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system in the pool.
Principal Financial Group Inc. has been named one of the “50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work for in the U.S.” by Latina Style magazine for the 11th consecutive year.
The Des Moines Art Center has received a $1 million grant from Vision Iowa for its Hands On Des Moines Capital Project, a preservation plan totaling more than $7 million. The award will help the Art Center achieve preservation goals as well as renovations to existing structures. Additional project components such as replacement of inefficient boilers and chillers, expanded vault storage and handling areas, improved security for the outdoor sculpture collection, roof replacement and new lighting will also take place. Construction is expected to begin early in the spring of 2009 with an approximate completion date of summer 2010.
Meredith Corp. volunteers will spend Oct. 2 making energy-efficient adjustments to homes in the Woodland Heights neighborhood as part of the company’s seventh annual Rebuilding Together day. This year’s project will focus on reducing the energy consumption of area homes.
Cedar Rapids-based Rockwell Collins Inc. received a $67.5 million contract from the Air Force for thousands of global positioning systems receivers and accessories, the Pentagon said late last Friday.
